Hey everyone! Welcome to another year of thrilling stories and love of books! This year, I’ve challenged myself to read ten books outside my schoolwork. I love the feeling of a real book in my hands as I unwind at night.
Let’s kick off 2025 with pages worth turning!
Here are the books I'm planning to read in 2025:
1984 by George Orwell
Lord of the Flies by William Golding
The Giver by Lois Lowry
The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry
The Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger
Atomic Habits by James Clear
The Outsider by Stephen King
V for Vendetta by Alan Moore
The Whalestoe Letters by Mark Z. Danielewski
Frankenstein by Mary Shelley
Why Bother with Reading Goals?
I do much better if I set a goal for myself. Even if I don't end up reading all of these books, I will still read way more if I hadn't set a goal. When I was little, I used to get a donut as a reward for finishing reading an entire book series. Setting up a little reward for yourself or your child can be a fun way to encourage the love of reading.
Where I Get My Books:
I check out most of my books through the King County Library System. I also asked for books I wanted for Christmas and my birthday. I already have a few of the books on my list and have been looking forward to reading them!
A Book That’s Stuck with Me from 2024:
Last year, I really enjoyed Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury. It was an eye-opener about what happens when society decides books are dangerous.
